Autumn Equinox

What is it?

Around 21 - 24 September is the Autumn Equinox : a time of equal balance of daylight to night hours. After this point the days become shorter.

The old Anglo Saxon word for harvest (haerfest) was also the word for autumn. Traditionally it has been a time for harvesting crops and preparing for winter, and being grateful for all that we have.

As a time of balance, before we descend into winter, it is a time to pause and reflect - What do can we let go of? What are we grateful for? How can we find balance in our lives?
