Samhain

What is it?

Around 31st October is Samhain. The mid point between the Autumn Equinox and the Mid Winter Solstice. It marks the first day of winter, and the days become shorter and nights longer.

It is a time when the veil between the seen and unseen realms is thin, and our ancestors are close by. We can honour and connect with our ancestors with a fire, a meal and remembering them.

And as winter and darkness deepen and Mother Earth goes underground we can honour the cycle of death and decay, trusting that rebirth and regeneration will follow.
