Imbolc 2026

Imbolc – the threshold between winter and spring; in the Northern Hemisphere the light is with us for longer each day, the new shoots of growth emerging after winters rest of dormancy.  I notice within myself that each day I naturally wake a little earlier, I am feeling a gradual upsurge in my own energy, as if I too am waking after winter’s slumber.

The formal date – 1st February marks the half way point between the winter solstice and the spring solstice, and lets us know that our home, Mother Earth is continuing to turn and cycle around our sun, and within our universe. 

Let’s bring this time of year to the personal. Let’s make it a time for us to rekindle the fires of our spirit, to open our hearts and consider, what is that we want to grow within ourselves? What ideas for our lives do we have that we can turn into intentions and nurture into growth over the coming days, weeks and months? 

These can be bold strident shoots of growth, or small incremental changes we make to our lives.  It matters not the size of our intentions – what matters is that we take the time to pause, to reflect and consider – what would l like to see happen in my life, my world, my orbit?  How can I bring this to fruition and use the energy of this time to support me in my quest?
